Shopping

Coffee is the local product you won't want to leave Boquete without, and bagged beans are sold all around town in cafes and grocery stores. Café Kotowam, at the visitor center just before town, sells top-rated blends and souvenir and gift packs. No stores in the Tocuman International Airport sell coffee, so don't put off until the last minute buying a few bags of Panama's best. The Harmony Gift Shop on Avenida Central, in front of the Boquete Country Inn, has arts and crafts, jewelry, and other gift items for sale. Souvenir El Cacique, on Avenida Central at the plaza, has indigenous handicrafts made by the Ngobe-Buglé, Kuna, and Emberá indigenous groups, plus handicrafts from indigenous groups around Central America. Ingana Art Shop (tel. 720-1699) sells ethnic handicrafts and art from all over the world, and the Galeria de Arte (tel. 6769-6090), adjacent to Art Café La Crepe, 150 meters north of the church, sells jewelry, molas, ceramics, and paintings by international artists.
