Lush tropical gardens provide the setting for this Club Med, located beside a good beach in a little half-moon-shaped bay north of Matira Point. The focus of attention is a large thatch-roofed beachside pavilion, which houses a reception area, bar, buffet-oriented dining room, and nightclub. Guests pay extra for scuba diving, but all meals (with wine) and a wide range of activities are included in the rates. Considering the prices elsewhere on Bora Bora, this makes Club Med a good value. The accommodations are in a mix of standalone and duplex bungalows and two-story, motel-style buildings. The beachfront bungalows are the preferred choice here, especially for honeymooners and others seeking a degree of privacy. The rooms are comfortably if not extravagantly furnished. If you don't have a roommate, one of the same sex may be assigned.
