This outfit runs 7-day wilderness safaris, where each night is spent at a different camp within the Mashatu Game Reserve; the focus is often on riding with the vast elephant herds. The first night -- always a Sunday -- is spent at Fort Jameson, a rustic camp with double safari tents that include en-suite flush toilets and hot-water showers. The next nights are spent in bush camps comprising dome tents, stretchers, and sleeping bags. There are bucket showers and long drops. The horses have been individually selected for temperament and rideability, but you need to be experienced. Visitors with less time can try the Limpopo Safari option based at Fort Jameson, with two rides per day and no minimum stay.
