Frommer's Review
The historic ambience that makes the Hotel Boulderado such a delightful place to stay also makes its way into Q's, the hotel's main restaurant. The dining room combines the old -- rich polished wood and stained glass -- with the comfortable, casually elegant feel of today. Of course, the important thing is the food, and chef-owner John Platt does an excellent job, using locally grown organic vegetables whenever possible.
Platt, who claims seafood as his specialty after years on Cape Cod, always includes several fresh fish selections on the menu, such as grilled ahi tuna served with potato-leek purée with roasted cauliflower, apple-smoked bacon, and a sweet pepper salad. Rotisseried meats often include allspice-cured pork loin served with shoestring onions, whipped potatoes, and BBQ jus. Other specialties: grilled scallop risotto, gnocchi in pesto broth, and harissa-marinated chicken.
