Frommer's Review
Since it opened in 2004, The Kitchen has emerged as a standout in a competitive dining market. Locals flock here for the fresh, often organic food, the expert service, and the casual atmosphere that melds metropolitan flair with Boulder funkiness. The lunch menu changes seasonally, often depending on what ingredients are locally available, but the buttery, melt-in-your mouth slow-roasted pork sandwich, topped with a mellow salsa verde, and lamb burger are always available. The daily-evolving dinner slate might include chargrilled pork chops, crab gnocchi, Maine oysters, and a vegetarian selection or two, once again with an emphasis on local and organic ingredients. On Monday "Community Nights," food is presented family-style for $35; reservations are necessary. Upstairs is the aptly named [Upstairs], a swank wine bar that serves a light menu and libations from the 4,500-bottle cellar, staying open into the wee hours.
