A loud and lively Caribbean cafe, Rhumba has a loyal local following. With a curved bar that abuts a popular patio and plenty of plants, sun, and original art, this hip eatery dishes out plates of jerked pork and chicken, noodle bowls, and curried dishes, served with such sides as black beans, sweet potato hash browns, and grilled flat bread. More exotic offerings include the ceviche of the day, grilled ahi with guava coulis, and chile-glazed tofu over couscous. Even the cheeseburgers have an island flavor when doused with Rhumba's banana-guava ketchup. There is spice aplenty for fiery-foods fanatics, but there are also plenty of dishes that won't set meeker mouths afire. The cocktail of choice is the mojito: silver rum, fresh mint and lime, sugar, and soda water. There is live music (reggae, Latin, jazz, and funk) on a regular basis.
