Most of the best clubs are in Bourges's old town. Try Le Pub Birdland, 4 av. Jean-Jaurès (tel. 02-48-70-66-77), an old-fashioned establishment with a wood interior, a young crowd of heavy-duty beer drinkers, and jazz and rock. Beau Bar, rue des Beaux-Arts (tel. 02-48-24-40-49), pulls in a bohemian crowd -- artists, poets, songwriters, and the like. For something a little different, head to La Soupe aux Choux, part of the restaurant Le Guillotin, place Gordaine (tel. 02-48-65-43-66), where you can take in an evening of cafe-théâtre. Shows can be anything from musical performances to stand-up comedy; tickets run 8€ to 15€ ($12-$22).
