At the very top of this medieval hamlet and modest mountain resort lies the Turm, a series of buildings dating in part to the 13th century that have served time as a tribunal, a prison, and an osteria. During blizzards, the whole village would come to the osteria and shut themselves in together to feast, play cards, and wait out the storm. This tradition gave rise to its role as an inn, which stands today as a collection of three towers and a "wagenhaus," sort of like an upscale garage, the most prized property today. Stefan Pramstrahler has gradually morphed this communal tradition into the modern concept of a "wellness" retreat to accompany the luxurious suites. Choose from hay baths (apparently a long-standing tradition), a massage on a heated stone bed, or a candlelight bath for two in the "emperor's" tub.
