Shop Off the Beaten Path -- Get off Route 52 and take a drive on Route 82 to Hockessin. The journey is the destination. Bicyclists may like this road, too, as it twists and turns alongside old railroad tracks and a lazy creek. The road forks off to the right into Pennsylvania; make sure you take the left fork. The destination in Hockessin is a little shopping center across Route 41 with one of the best crafts shops anywhere, Creations, 451 Hockessin Corner (tel. 302/235-2310; www.creationsgallery.com). The mall, which has several gift shops, is really just off Route 41 -- but Route 82 is more scenic.
