How unusual to find a bake shop tucked away in a sweet little country gift shop. Hopkins House Bakery, 2727 Main St. (tel. 508/896-3450), is an especially good one, with hermit cookies (molasses, raisins, and nuts) a standout. Heather Baxter also bakes breads and terrific muffins, including what she calls "the best corn muffin ever." Homemade fruit pies and sticky buns are also a specialty. Open Thursdays through Sundays 8am to 5pm in July and August, weekends only in June and September. Closed October to May.
