Frommer's Review
Once the tallest building in Brisbane, City Hall is now dwarfed by the office blocks that surround it. Nevertheless, a ride in the old elevator to the top of the sandstone clock tower (at 92m/302 ft.) gives you a different perspective on the city center. A cheery elevator operator will give you a history of the building on your short ride to the third floor before letting you out into the glassed-in observation floor in the bell tower. Or you can take a 90-minute guided tour on weekdays between 9am and 4pm. If you're there on the quarter-hour, you'll get a close-up experience of the chimes. Try not to be there at midday, when the clock chimes noon -- it's deafening.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
