Hotel Ibis Brisbane Review

You get what you pay for at this AAA three-and-a-half star sister property to the Novotel Brisbane. In this case, it is basically a comfortable room, with few amenities you might expect in a large hotel. But if you don't mind doing without river views, porters, a pool, or other small luxuries, this could be the place for you. The hotel has rooms -- recently refurbished to the tune of A$1.5 million (US$1.4 million/£700,000) and much larger than those in most hotels of this standard -- furnished in contemporary style, with sizable work desks and small but smart bathrooms. Facilities include 24-hour reception, Internet service, and storage lockers, and guests can also use the restaurant and bar at the adjoining Mercure Hotel.

Facilities:
Restaurant; bar; babysitting; coin-op laundry; laundry service; dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
