Hotel Ibis Brisbane ReviewYou get what you pay for at this AAA three-and-a-half star sister property to the Novotel Brisbane. In this case, it is basically a comfortable room, with few amenities you might expect in a large hotel. But if you don't mind doing without river views, porters, a pool, or other small luxuries, this could be the place for you. The hotel has rooms -- recently refurbished to the tune of A$1.5 million (US$1.4 million/£700,000) and much larger than those in most hotels of this standard -- furnished in contemporary style, with sizable work desks and small but smart bathrooms. Facilities include 24-hour reception, Internet service, and storage lockers, and guests can also use the restaurant and bar at the adjoining Mercure Hotel. Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
