In Buenos Aires -- The central office of the City Tourism Secretariat, Calle Balcarce 360 in Monserrat (tel. 11/4313-0187), is responsible for all visitor information on Buenos Aires but is not open to the general public. Instead, the city uses several kiosks spread throughout various neighborhoods, which have maps and hotel, restaurant, and attraction information. In addition, individual associations often have their own tourist centers providing a wealth of information, such as that for the Calle Florida Business Association in a kiosk close to the end of Calle Florida as it hits Plaza San Martín.
The Buenos Aires City Tourism Office runs a hot line for information (tel. 11/4313-0187) from 7:30am to 6pm Monday to Saturday, and Sunday 11am to 6pm.
Free tours are also provided by the city (find out more by calling tel. 11/4114-5791, Mon-Fri 10am-4pm). The majority of the tours are in Spanish, but a few are also in English.
