Frommer's Review
This stadium overlooks a desolate garbage-strewn lot at the corner of calles Del Valle Iberlucea and Brandsen. But go on game day, when street parties and general debauchery take over the area, and it is another story. This is the home of the fútbol (soccer) club Boca Juniors, the team of Argentine legend Diego Maradona, who, like his country, went from glory to fiery collapse rather quickly. For information on fútbol games, see the Buenos Aires Herald sports section. Wealthy businessman Mauricio Macri, president of the Boca Juniors Fútbol Club, opened the Museo de la Pasión Boquense in the stadium, part of his unsuccessful bid to woo Porteños into electing him the city's mayor. This glitzy showstopper is full of awards, TV screens showing important events that happened on the field, and more things related to this legendary team.
