Frommer's Review
"Food and art" is how this place likes to describe itself, and there is artwork by local San Telmo artists hanging up all around the dining area. The restaurant has several levels, including an upstairs lounge with a 1930s Art Deco feel, painted red with mismatched furniture, and an air-conditioned lounge for respite during the hot summer. Windows look out onto the street corner, allowing for great people-watching as slow traffic rumbles soothingly by. Some people prefer to take their drinks onto the rooftop terrace where there's no view to the street but where you will get a wonderful outdoor dining experience. Many patrons come here for such small, easy-to-prepare things as sandwiches, pastries, and fiambres (cut-up bits of cheese and meat meant for sharing over drinks). Italian-inspired items, however, make up the bulk of the main courses, such as spinach crepes, lomo medallions, and gnocchi. Aperitifs, wine, mixed drinks, and coffee and tea are the liquid highlights of this gathering spot, which is also considered one of the most gay-friendly restaurants in the neighborhood. A small clothing boutique full of vintage and clubby items shares the main floor, opening onto the cafe/lounge.
