Pan Americano Review

The enormous Pan Americano faces the Obelisco and the Teatro Colón, offering convenient access to tourist sites as well as many subte lines. The South Tower rooms are a good size, but the North Tower rooms are even larger, and bathrooms have whirlpool tubs and separate shower units. All rooms in both towers come with desks, extra side chairs, and ample closet space. The three-story glass rooftop health club, spa, and sauna will give you the sense that you're floating above Avenida 9 de Julio. The health club restaurant, Kasuga, becomes a sushi bar at night. Two other restaurants are located in the lobby: Lucíernaga, the main lobby bar where breakfast is served, and Tomo Uno. Both spaces serve international, Argentine, and Italian cuisine. The Pan Americano is sometimes called the Crowne Plaza, though it is no longer part of that chain.

Facilities:
3 restaurants; babysitting; concierge; exercise room; enormous health club w/indoor/outdoor pool; massage; room service; sauna; spa

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
