Frommer's Review
Owner Nerina Sturgeon wanted to create an "artist hostel" in the heart of Palermo Viejo, and she has succeeded in doing so. Built into an old house, this intimate hostel boasts extremely high ceilings, all the better to have more wall space to show off her own and other people's paintings throughout the space. The artist atmosphere is further highlighted by gallery events held here periodically, complete with rooftop parties on the garden-wrapped terrace overlooking the street. The guest rooms are accessed by old French doors, and each has just a few beds. In total, there are 10 bed spaces, including one as a single. As a woman-owned and -run business, this is also an ideal location for young women to feel comfortable if traveling alone. The only complaint would be the bathroom ratio, which is not enough. There is also no breakfast, but a 24-hour cafe sits across the street. A shared kitchen completes the picture. An Internet station is also in the living room, and there is Wi-Fi capability.
Facilities:
Self-service drink station; concierge; free Internet station; TV room; shared kitchen

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
