Owner Nerina Sturgeon wanted to create an "artist hostel" in the heart of Palermo Viejo, and she has succeeded in doing so. Built into an old house, this intimate hostel boasts high ceilings -- all the better to display Nerina's paintings, as well as the artwork of others, throughout the space. The gallery atmosphere is furthered by exhibitions held here periodically, complete with rooftop parties on the garden-wrapped terrace overlooking the street. There are 15 bed spaces, nine in shared spaces, and six in three private rooms. All rooms share public bathrooms and have lockers. As a woman-owned-and-run business, it's an ideal location for young women travelers. Take note that, while the atmosphere is the same, the hostel has moved across the street from its old location into an equally charming house. No breakfast is served, but a 24-hour cafe sits across the street, and there is a shared kitchen. The living room has an Internet station with Wi-Fi capability.
