Art Hotel ReviewThis was among the earliest of the boutique hotels to open in Buenos Aires during the tourism boom in 2004, and the owners have maintained the historical nature of the property. You'll find high ceilings, rich wood details on the doors, and even "Viva Perón" etched into the mirrors of the 100-year-old elevator. Some rooms are on the small side, but all have such interesting details such as polished concrete floors with embedded ornamental tiles. Bathrooms are small and shower-only. The public areas on each floor are spacious. A rooftop solarium also has great views, and two guest rooms are located here as well. The extensive stairs throughout make this hotel a difficult choice for anyone with limited mobility. The hotel describes itself as being in Recoleta, but it is truly in Barrio Norte. Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
