Frommer's Review
I found this to be among the nicest of the new boutique hotels in Palermo. Much of it is due to the young couple that built the place. Patricia O'Shea is Argentine and Tom Rixton is her British husband. She grew up a few blocks from the hotel and he is a former DJ, giving the place both anchor and soul. The two wanted people to feel, as the name implies, at home in Buenos Aires. The lobby is filled with funky 1960's Danish furniture and overlooks an atrium with a water element. This leads to the back restaurant and bar which is always packed. On Fridays there's a DJ, and it's a great place for drinks even if you're not staying here. Beyond this, there is a real backyard with grass and an outdoor heated pool, giving an ironic suburban edge to the property. Rooms are high design with blonde woods and white linens -- it has a modern feel but with '60s mod accents. The bathrooms are large and some suites come with Jacuzzis and have kitchens. One room is available for people with disabilities. A two-level apartment is attached to the property with its own entrance. Americans make up the bulk of their clientele, with the most famous being the Bush twins. Home has an excellent spa sunken into its courtyard, open to the public, with day rate packages running about US$155 (£82), which includes breakfast and lunch. Treatments are extensive and include seaweed wraps. They plan to open a rooftop bar in the near future.
