If you want to take home a few miniature paintings (and you do -- the style is exquisite and the prices laughably cheap), Bundi is one of the best places to do so. If the vast selection at Haveli Braj Bhushanjee doesn't suffice, the charming Gopal Soni has a little shop, Mayur Art (Nahar Ka Chohatta; tel. 0747/244-7297 or 0747/244-7710; Aug-Apr daily 8am-noon and 1-8pm, May-July daily 9am-noon and 4-7pm) near the haveli where he paints beautiful miniatures (mostly copies of those in Chitra Shala) on anything from marble and silk to antique Raj-era paper documents. They make a delightful souvenir or gift (prices start from Rs 50/$1.25/65p); plus, for a small fee, you can have each of your fingernails adorned with a miniature elephant, peacock, or tiger.
