Frommer's Review
A meal in this pretty pillared restaurant is the perfect way to cap off a visit to Burford. Good pub lunches dominate the agenda at midday; dinners are formal, candlelit affairs. The evening menu is beautifully cooked and served. You may begin with cream of broccoli and blue cheese soup before moving on to rack of lamb with parsnip, sage, and a port sauce, or medallions of venison with sautéed red cabbage and a beet coriander sauce. The pub here attracts folks from all walks of life. They seem to adore its mellow atmosphere and charm. Guinness, cider, and a carefully chosen collection of ales, including a local brew, Wadworth Hook Norton Ale, are on tap.
