Teetering on the edge of Haut-de-Cagnes, the ever-popular Josy-Jo was the home and studio of painters Modigliani and Soutine during their hungriest years. Started by chef Josy Bandecchi and her now-retired husband Jo in 1970, it dishes up Provençal and Niçoise delights on a leafy terrace or inside the elegant dining room. Local flavors are dreamlike. The menu features Niçois specialty petits farcis (tiny stuffed vegetables), grilled lamb from the Hautes-Alpes, and a variety of homemade desserts. Josyjo is best known for its charcoal grill. Choice cuts of Charolais beef, Alpine lamb, and duck breast are loaded on to order.
