Villa Estelle ReviewJean Cocteau, Renoir, and even Modigliani used to pass by the front door of this authentic Provençal mansion. The restored 14th-century villa opens onto a large terrace with Florentine-inspired columns set in a Mediterranean garden with terraces. The bougainvillea lends extra color to palm and orange trees, while white laurel blooms half the year. The five small to midsize bedrooms and suites are furnished with a personal touch and decorated with antiques and works of art alike. Some rooms open onto sea views, and old-fashioned charm is found around every corner. It's almost like staying in a private Provençal home. Guests convene in the living room with its old paintins, fine linen curtains, and rich velvet draperies. A self-catering apartment is available for weekly rentals. The only drawback is the lack of on-site parking. Facilities: Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
