On the western fringes of the city just off the Trans-Canada Highway on the way to Banff, Calgary's Calaway Park is the largest outdoor amusement park in western Canada. The park contains everything from roller coasters to the log ride and bumper cars, as well as daily live entertainment, western-themed mini-golf, and a whole host of rides designed specifically for younger kids. It also regularly holds a variety of events to entice the visitor, such as the fantastically named Rad Dad day. Please note: At the beginning and end of the season, the park is open only on the weekend and on public holidays.
