Frommer's Review
This popular new restaurant is the antithesis of a small-plates tapas bar. Located in a heritage home fronting onto 17th Avenue, with tables inside and on a lovely shaded patio (heated by outdoor fireplaces in chilly weather), the Living Room specializes in "contemporary interactive cuisine," which translates as those classics of French, Italian, and Canadian cooking meant to be shared. Most beguiling are the many dishes designed for two: double-sized portions of fondues, bouillabaisse, double-cut prime rib, and lobster Newburg. Of course, individual portions are also served, though in the same spirit of contemporary interactive dining. Local produce and meats are featured; the rack of local lamb with almond and cranberry mustard crust is a standout.
