Frommer's Review
The Westin completes a C$6-million renovation in 2006, with newly upgraded rooms and new lobby. Despite its anonymous business-hotel exterior, the interior has a subtle Western feel that's reflected in the mission-style furniture, sunny colors, and period photos. Beautiful barn-wood breakfronts and lowboys dispel the feeling that you're in one of the city's most modern properties. While standard rooms are very comfortable, corner suites come with balconies. For extra quiet, request one of the Tower rooms, which are normally reserved for business travelers. The Westin also offers all the technology needed to help a business traveler multitask, with high-speed Internet throughout, large working desks, and two-line phones. Upgraded "Heavenly" beds ensure a good night's sleep while dual shower heads enhance your morning ablution. The hotel rolls out the welcome mat for kids, with a "kids club" offering children's furniture, babysitting, and a children's menu - and even games and special treats from room service. Special needs are anticipated, from strollers to room-service delivery of fresh diapers. Even dogs, which are welcome, have specialty beds!
