This hotel on the west end of downtown is one of Calgary's best deals. The Sandman is conveniently located on the free rapid-transit mall, just west of the main downtown core. The standard rooms are a good size, but the real winners are the very large corner units, which feature small kitchens and great views. The Sandman is a popular place with corporate clients, due to its central location, good value, and high-speed Internet access. It also boasts a complete fitness facility. Its private health club, available free to guests, has a lap pool, three squash courts, aerobics, and weight-training facilities.
