The 120 beds at the Calgary hostel are the city's most affordable lodgings -- but there are reasons beyond economy to stay here. The hostel is on the edge of downtown, convenient to bars and restaurants along Stephen Avenue and theaters near the performing-arts center. There is a games room, Internet access, homey -- if somewhat dated -- common areas, and it's clean as a whistle. It's very highly rated by guests from all over the world. There are 110 dorm-style beds with two family rooms available. A small convenience store is on site.
