Frommer's Review
A little off downtown's beaten track, from the outside, Delta's Bow Valley property looks like a fairly generic business hotel. Inside, the Bow Valley is a quiet oasis of soothing calm just outside the main bustle of the city's constantly churning core. The rooms, all renovated as of 2007, are generously sized, and the location, along the Bow River, is a peaceful choice for someone who wants to be downtown without its hassles. The Bow Valley is also welcoming to children: kids under 17 stay free with a parent. At meals, kids under 6 eat free, while kids under 12 eat at half price. The hotel also features a children's "creative center," where kids can be parked to indulge their artistic urges with art supplies and computers. The Delta Bow Valley is also the only hotel in Calgary that offers a complimentary sedan service within the downtown core, making the slightly inconvenient location easier to manage.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
