California Travel Guide

California on the west coast of the United States, also known as the Golden State, is blessed with year-round sunshine, hundreds of miles of Pacific coastline and great natural beauty with mountains, valleys and a lot of desert. Its capital city is Sacramento and it is also home to the vast metropolis of Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego, which sits on the border with Mexico.

The most populated state in the US, California also has a large Hispanic community. The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is one of California's best known landmarks and Disneyland in Anaheim is one of many amusement parks.

The state is also home to a thriving arts scene with renowned orchestras, ballet companies and art galleries. California is home to several world-famous sports teams and you can enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities like camping and hiking as well as some great surfing beaches.
