Organized Tours

The Cambridge Tourist Information Centre (earlier in this chapter) sponsors 2-hour walking tours, taking in the highlights of the city, costing £8 to £15 for adults or £4.50 to £7.50 for children 6 to 11, and free for children 5 and younger. Call for opening times.

City Sightseeing, on the concourse of Cambridge Railway Station (tel. 01708/866000), offers daily guided tours of Cambridge via open-top, double-decker buses. In summer, they depart every 15 minutes from 9:30am to 4pm from Silver Street. Departures are curtailed off-season, depending on demand. The tour can be a 1-hour ride, or you can get off at any of the many stops and rejoin the tour whenever you wish. Tickets are valid all day. The fare is £10 for adults, £7 for seniors and students, £5 for children 6 to 11, and free for kids 5 and younger. A family ticket for £25 covers two adults and up to three children.
