This is an acceptable alternative if La Camogliese is full, and, more than a fallback, it’s pleasant and convenient, with a handy location a short walk up a steep staircase from the harbor. The couple and their son who run this pensione also operate the ground-floor trattoria, which serves as a sitting room for the hotel guests and makes it easy to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine. The guest rooms are extremely plain, with functional furnishings and drab decor, but they are large and clean, and have good-size bathrooms. You also get 15 minutes of free Internet access (in the reception area) per day. Ask for a room in front—those in back face the train tracks.
