Shopping

Along Canandaigua's Main Street, an "artwalk" takes you to Gallery on Main Street (131 S. Main St.; tel. 585/394-2780), The Christopher Wheat Gallery (92 S. Main St.; tel. 585/399-1180), and Nadal Glass (20 Phoenix St.; tel. 585/374-7850), which features glass hand blown in an old firehouse. The top shopping destination in the area, however, is the Bloomfield Antique Country Mile, a cluster of seven antiques dealers along routes 5 and 20 in Bloomfield (just west of Canandaigua). Several are multidealer shops, such as Alan's Antique Alley, 6925 routes 5 and 20 (tel. 585/657-6776). Wizard of Clay, 7851 Rte. 20A, Bristol (tel. 585/229-2980), is a cool stoneware pottery shop. A couple of very large antiques malls are located in Farmington (Rochester Rd., or Rte. 332): Ontario Mall Antiques (1740 Rochester Rd.; tel. 585/398-3030), with more than 600 dealers, and Antique Emporium of Farmington (1780 Rochester Rd.; tel. 585/398-3997), with some 60 dealers.
