In a musically accented garden setting with flowering hibiscus trees, this downtown restaurant is ideal for a romantic evening. For an all-out culinary adventure, try habichuela (string bean) soup; shrimp in any number of sauces, including Jamaican tamarind, tequila, or ginger and mushroom; and Maya coffee with xtabentun (a strong, sweet, anise-based liqueur). Grilled seafood and steaks are excellent, and the menu includes luscious seviches, Caribbean lobsters, an inventive seafood "parade," and shish kabob flambé. For something divine, try cocobichuela, lobster and shrimp in curry served in a coconut shell and topped with fruit. Top it off with one of the boozy butterscotch crepes. Service here is fabulous.
