This latest opening of the Spanish ME hotel by Meliá brings to Cancún a new level of minimalist chic. Bathed in hues of beige and mauve, with polished marble, onyx lamps, and modern artwork, the hotel creates its own fashion statement -- and the hip clientele reflects it. The modern lobby feels a bit like an upscale cocktail lounge, with trendy bars, sensual artwork, and chill-out music filling the space. Guest rooms have distinctive contemporary furnishings, plasma TVs, CD players, and marble bathrooms with rain showers and Aveda bath products; half look to the Caribbean Sea and the other half to the lagoon. The super-stylish Yhi Spa overlooks the ocean and offers body glows and exfoliations, aromatherapy massages, body masks, and wraps -- this is a place to indulge yourself until you're entirely rejuvenated.
