Big, healthy reefs teeming with marine life are just a short trip from the shores of Candi Dasa. There are lots of storefront outfitters in town able to arrange snorkeling and diving trips. Some spots are fit only for advanced divers; the wreck of the World War II USS Liberty is offshore at Tulamben. Hotels can arrange trips with operators along the main road, or you can try Geko Divers, out of Padangbai to the south (tel. 363/41516; www.gekodive.com).
