Frommer's Review
Although it's a bit less appealing than the Carlton, this is a popular convention hotel and a desirable property for the individual. When the Art Deco hotel was built in the 1930s, it rivaled any other lodging along the coast in sheer size. Over the years, however, it fell into disrepair. But in 1982, the Concorde chain returned the hotel and its restaurants to their former luster, and today it competes with the Noga Hilton. The aim of the decor was a Roaring '20s style, and all units have full marble bathrooms, wood furnishings, tasteful carpets, and pastel fabrics. Called a hotel within a hotel, the penthouse floor has become the chic-est place to stay at the resort, featuring 11 suites, the most sought-after in town following a massive restyling. It has a private beach, one of the finest restaurants in Cannes (La Palme d'Or), and a water-skiing school.
