Frommer's Review
Set almost directly atop the dividing line between Provence and the Côte d'Azur, this is one of the newest and plushest resorts to open in southern France. The location is 32km (20 miles) north of the Cannes-Mandelieu airport. It's also the only resort in the region with two 18-hole golf courses, each designed by big-name golf designer, Wales-born Dave Thomas. Great efforts were made during its design to emulate one of the "perched villages" of medieval Provence.
The layout evokes an isolated cluster of masonry-sided villas, each painted ocher, each capped with a terra-cotta roof, and each interconnected across manicured lawns and gardens with undulating brick walkways. Villas are artfully decorated with airy postmodern furnishings vaguely influenced by the traditions of Provence. Even the smallest of the accommodations here is a suite suitable for up to four occupants. The largest is a full-blown private villa for up to eight guests. Service is superb and in 2005, after only a year in business, the most upscale of the resort's many restaurants earned its first Michelin star. Come here for golf and all manner of outdoor sports, or use the resort as a jumping-off point for visits to the touristic and historic highlights of the surrounding region.
Facilities:
4 restaurants/bars; 2 pools (indoor and outdoor); 2 par-72 18-hole golf courses; gym; spa; children's programs; room service; laundry service; dry cleaning
