Getting There

Cannon Beach is on U.S. 101 just south of the junction with U.S. 26.

Contact the Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce, 207 N. Spruce St. (P.O. Box 64), Cannon Beach, OR 97110 (tel. 503/436-2623; www.cannonbeach.org).

Getting Around

The Cannon Beach Shuttle, which provides free van service up and down the length of town, operates daily with seasonal hours. Watch for signed shuttle stops. Donations for the ride are accepted.

Festivals

Each year in late April, the Puffin Kite Festival fills the skies over Cannon Beach with colorful kites and features stunt-kite exhibitions. In early June, the Sand Castle Day contest turns the beach into one vast canvas for sand sculptors from all over the region, and in early November, the Stormy Weather Arts Festival celebrates the arrival of winter storms.
