Attractions

From ascending its famous flat-topped mountain to indulging in the sybaritic pleasures of the Winelands, Cape Town has much to offer sightseers. You could cover the top attractions in 3 days, but to really get a sense of how much the city and surrounds have to offer, you'll need to stay at least a week.

Cape Town Pass for Savings -- If you plan to do some intensive sightseeing, look into purchasing a Cape Town Pass. Available in 1- (R275/$38/£20), 2- (R425/$59/£30), 3- (R495/$69/£35), and 6-day (R750/$104/£54) options, the "credit card" pass entitles you to free entry to some 50 top attractions, and comes with a 160-page guide profiling them. (Almost all the attractions reviewed below are included in the pass, with the notable exception of the Table Mountain cableway.)
