The Constantia Wine RouteGroot Constantia is a good place to start your exploration of the Cape's oldest and closest Winelands, an area that comprises eight wineries, the most famous being Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia, Buitenverwachting, Uitsig, and Steenberg. All feature Cape Dutch homesteads, oaks, and acres of vineyards, and because they're about 30 minutes from town, spending time here is definitely recommended, particularly if you aren't venturing into the surrounding Winelands.
