Frommer's Review
A delicious buffet of eight great salads (roasted beetroot and feta, for example, or baby tomatoes dredged in balsamico with fresh basil and coriander, or pesto-soaked carpaccio with green leaves), a selection of two to three delicious quiches (if you're lucky, roasted vegetables and cream cheese is one), and two pasta dishes (spinach and ricotta, beef chorizo and chile), as well as a selection of the best cakes and tarts in town make this one of Kloof Street's most popular eateries (and one of the best delis in town). A window bar is stacked full of magazines (ideal for solitary diners), but table seating is limited, so try to get here early. Self-service only. Everything in the well-stocked Continental deli is delicious, and it's ideal for picnics or healthful hotel-room snacks. No wonder Melissa's has now expanded to four stores.
