This quiet, turn-of-the-20th-century guesthouse offers stylish rooms in one of the city's oldest residential areas. White features predominantly -- from the floorboards to the linen -- with many wicker touches. The standard double rooms are slightly small but comfortable (although men may find them a tad feminine), with a choice of twin rooms or queen-size beds. The spacious garden suite is a personal favorite, but the most popular room is the upstairs honeymoon suite, with a door opening onto the first-floor veranda with a great view of Table Mountain. Kloof Street, with its large selection of restaurants, is just a short drive away. While this is a very pretty option, and very calm and relaxing, if you're looking for a little more action, De Waterkant House and The Village Lodge offer comparable accommodations in a trendy, vibrant area, with a great selection of restaurants within strolling distance.
