Frommer's Review
Near the Culverhouse Cross roundabout, two old converted farm buildings are now the venue for some of the finest viands in and around Cardiff. It's a lively place, popular with punters who come here mainly for seafood, such as fresh lobster and oysters caught on nearby shores, along with crab from Pembroke. A young team in the kitchen turns out one tempting dish after another. Our preferred selection is the grilled whole fish, although you can also delight in other main courses, such as baked whole sea bass stuffed with citrus and served with tomato croquettes. Filet of salmon appears with red-onion lyonnaise potatoes. Other delights are the honey-glazed Gressingham duck breast with poached chestnuts, or a medley of rack and rump of lamb. For dessert, the chef is justly proud of his hot chocolate fondant with a soft, gooey center and pistachio ice cream.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
