Frommer's Review
This is a memorial to Sicily's national poet, Giovanni Verga (1840-1922), who lived and wrote here for many years. Verga was a firebrand who wrote with poignancy about the plight of underpaid workers during the Industrial Revolution. Climb a flight of worn stairs for access to the battered, dusty, and not-particularly well-stocked museum that occupies the rooms where he completed some of his works. Despite the artist's powerful literature, you might leave with a sense of sadness that the local municipality has neglected this museum as obviously as it has. We recommend this place only for avid enthusiasts -- the Bellini Museum, a few blocks away, is far more interesting.
