Frommer's Review
This age-old government-rated two-star hotel occupies a site that's closer to the cathedral than any other lodging in town. It's been here since 1900, still evoking a battered but genteel pensione whose staff has seen thousands of art lovers and business travelers come and go. The small lobby is filled with sepia-toned photos of old Catania. Rooms are very simple and bland-looking, with few frills but acceptably comfortable furniture. More than half overlook the Duomo and the historic buildings around it. Each room is equipped with a bathroom -- half with shower, the other half with tub. No meals of any kind, not even breakfast, are served, but the Caffè del Duomo lies a few steps away.
