The Mahle (pronounced "Molly") House is located in a tiny country town, in a salmon-pink heritage home overlooking a park. From this unlikely address, it has developed a huge reputation for excellent regional cuisine emphasizing locally grown, mostly organic produce and meats. On the weekly changing menu you might choose free-range chicken breast stuffed with Dungeness crab and served with lemon-grass sauce, or Chinook salmon, scallops, and porcupine prawns with saffron aioli and lemon oil. The award-wining wine list is extensive. The restaurant also offers "adventure" nights, when it's chef's choice: a Wednesday five-course dinner for C$40, a Thursday evening five-course tapas dinner for C$30 per person, and a three-course Sunday "country dinner" for C$30.
