Frommer's Review
In the village of Es Migjorn Gran (San Cristóbal), between Es Mercadal and Santo Tomás, is this cozy and relatively undiscovered restaurant. Except for a small sign on the door, it could be mistaken for any other house on this quiet side street. The building dates from 1740, with sections added throughout the years. The interior is simple: stark white walls accented with artwork. The dining area consists of several small rooms, containing only a few tables each. You can dine outdoors in one of the small patio areas; many overlook the owner's compact vegetable garden. The menu consists of Minorcan specialties, including olaigua (eggplant stuffed with fish), and a particularly succulent version of roasted lamb. Owner José Luis maintains four simple guest rooms that, although clean and cozy, contain virtually no amenities other than private bathrooms and a sense of peace and quiet. A double room, with breakfast included, costs 53€ ($77) per night.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
