Nightlife in Chamonix runs the gamut from the classical to riotous. You'll find the most bars and pubs along rue des Moulins and rue Paccard. Chamonix's most popular disco is Le Garage, Avenue de l'Aiguille du Midi (tel. 04-50-53-64-49). Open nightly during the height of winter and summer high seasons, but only Thursday through Sunday during rainy months, it's outfitted with a modern format, very artfully "designed" with lots of chrome, steel, and glass. Clientele here could include just about anyone, reflecting the changing hordes of skiers and mountaineers who swarm through Chamonix at regular intervals. Entrance ranges from 5€ to 10€ ($7-$15). The casino, 12 place H.-B.-de-Saussure (tel. 04-50-53-07-65), has slot machines and roulette and blackjack tables.
