A Thai-style diner, JJ's is like an American Denny's and is in fact a local chain with three locations. Each air-conditioned restaurant has spotless tables and booths and big windows facing the street. The extensive menu includes excellent sandwiches and burgers, good fries, and all other things familiar; the waiters have personality and can even be a bit caustic, a comfortable familiarity for the true diner aficionado. Breakfasts are tops and reasonably priced, with tasty baked goods. The Thapae Road branch has a sandwich and salad bar in the evenings. There's a second branch at the Rimping Superstore across the river at 129 Lamphun Road.
